We make research accessible for practitioners.

Working in human services is one of the most rewarding careers out there. But it’s also one of the most challenging. For practitioners working on the frontline, staying up to date with the latest research and evidence based practice is essential to achieving positive outcomes, but it can be time consuming, expensive and overwhelming.

We’re committed to helping you deliver excellent services to your clients - they deserve it right?

We bring you experts in the field and help them develop on-line courses that are easy to navigate and allow you to immediately apply their knowledge into your practice.

On-line learning should be more than just a webinar.

As avid consumers of training ourselves - we are focused on the learning experience. A well crafted learning journey helps you feel inspired and hopeful in your work. You will learn at your pace with interactive and engaging content. Courses with live sessions have a limited number of participants, so you will also have plenty of opportunities to engage with the experts and discuss how the content applies to the clients you are working with now.

We pay careful attention to your journey as a learner and ensure that our systems are easy to access and navigate, with all the information available in one place. If you are keen to hear more about our courses and upcoming projects - join our newsletter mailing list.

Have you written a safety plan for your wellbeing?

As practitioners we talk about safety planning all the time. We know the importance of planning ahead for times when you are too overwhelmed to think straight. Yet personally - we often wait until we are feeling stressed out to consider self-care. By that time, our brain is in action mode and tells us “not yet - just one more thing!” … and there is always one more thing.

No wonder it is so hard to practice what we preach…

Pracademics has partnered with Dr Catherine Hynes (Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in neuroscience) to build an interactive e-module that helps you develop a personal safety plan based on neuroscience research and her clinical expertise as a trauma therapist. You can tick off one hour of PD while ensuring you stay safe and focused as we respond to the mental health impacts of COVID in the years ahead.

This module will benefit anyone working in human services, but is vital for supervisors, new graduates and those working with survivors of trauma. In these roles we must learn (and teach) how to protect our wellbeing, so we can continue to be effective in the work we do.
